Standards for Military Family Readiness (MFR) Programs

The Standards for Military Family Readiness (MFR) programs were developed in support of enhanced programmatic growth and stability, an unwavering commitment to the health, safety, and rights of clients, and producing high quality, measurable results. 

The Military Family Readiness Program Accreditation process involves the review and accreditation of the program’s administrative operations and its service delivery practices. 

Military Family Readiness Edition Services

COA's Standards for Military Family Readiness programs are intended for military programs seeking accreditation for their military family readiness services. Military programs seeking early childhood education (ECE), after school (ASP) or youth development (YD) program accreditation should refer to the Standards for Child & Youth Development (CYD) Programs.

Categories of Standards

The Standards for Military Family Readiness programs are divided into three parts:

  • Administration and Management Standards
  • Service Delivery Administration Standards
  • Service Standards

Administration and Management Standards

The Administration and Management Standards apply to all programs regardless of the services provided or population(s) served. They describe practices that promote sound operations and management.

Service Delivery Administration Standards

The Service Delivery Administration Standards also apply to all programs and cover practices related to the administration of services

Service Standards

Service Standards describe practices related to distinct services provided by military family readiness programs.
