Rochelle Haimes, ACSW
Volunteer Roles: Commissioner; Peer Reviewer; Standards Panel Member; Team Leader
Rochelle is a Consultant working with a variety of private organizations to become accredited. Her primary area of expertise is in facilitating the development of PQI systems and activities. Her previous experience with both small and large organizations is the cornerstone for her long-standing volunteer activities as a Peer reviewer and as a Team Leader.
Standards for Child and Youth Development (CYD) Programs
The Standards for Child and Youth Development programs were developed in support of enhanced programmatic growth and stability, an unwavering commitment to the health, safety, and rights of clients, and producing high quality, measurable results.
The Child and Youth Development Program Accreditation process involves the review and accreditation of the program’s administrative operations and its service delivery practices.
Child and Youth Development Edition Services
COA’s CYD standards apply to a variety of programs. These include:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs, which include day care centers, etc. Home-based/in-home services are not included in this section.
- After School, School Age Care (SAC), Out-of School–Time (OST), etc. programs.
- Youth Development (teen) programs.
Categories of Standards
The Standards for Child and Youth Development programs are divided into two parts, each with sub-sections.
Administration and Management Standards
The Administration and Management Standards apply to all programs regardless of the services provided or population(s) served. They describe practices that promote sound operations and management.
Service Standards describe practices related to distinct services provided by child and youth development programs. Within the CYD standards, the following services may be reviewed:
