New Recognition from the Department of Veterans Affairs

COA recognized by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for Supportive Services for Veterans and Families program grantees.

COA is now recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Supportive Services for Veterans and Families (SSVF). Under the SSVF program, VA awards grants to private non-profit organizations and consumer cooperatives that will provide supportive services to very low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing. This recognition is an important part of COA's continuing commitment to serve military personnel and their families.

WHO IS ACCREDITED?

Private Organization Accreditation

Sweetser, a Maine non-profit agency operating since 1828, provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services. Statewide, it serves around 15,000 consumers a year, including children, adults, and families in outpatient, office-based, and residential settings.
