Richard's Colleague Letter to the Field

As you know, the theme of our 2012 National Conference is Fulfilling the Promise. In that regard, we are continuously working to fulfill our promise to provide a more meaningful accreditation experience both for organizations and for our more than 1000 volunteers.

With that in mind, I am very pleased to announce we have chosen the conference as the perfect time to launch a new public website, a new MyCOA portal for organizations and programs seeking accreditation and a new Volunteer Information Portal (VIP) for our volunteers.

In the coming weeks, you will be receiving some very exciting information as to how each of these innovations will enhance the relevance and value of COA accreditation by providing a simpler and more intuitive web structure and design through the integration of all of our websites onto one platform.

Specifically, the new MyCOA portal, which is already being piloted with a group of organizations, will enhance communications, substantially streamline the accreditation process, and decrease staff time by facilitating the online submission and retrieval of information throughout the accreditation process.

Similarly, the VIP will enable our volunteers to interactively search and sign up for site visits as well as complete and submit rating information on the web.

In the future, we will be sending you more specific information regarding how these new developments function and apply to you and your organization or program.

I hope to see you in August at our Conference.

Sincerely,

Richard Klarberg
President & CEO

PS: If you are going to attend the conference, please be sure to take advantage of a “How to Use MyCOA” demonstration held throughout the conference. The VIP will be unveiled at Volunteer Day on Sunday.
