Important Update to the Generic Service Summary Supplement (GSS)

Private/Canadian organizations will be able to opt-in or opt-out of the GSS supplement for each applicable program as of June 11, 2018

For Private and Canadian Organizations

As part of COA’s effort to streamline and strengthen our current business model, we will no longer require that organizations complete the Generic Service Summary Supplement (GSS) for programs that cannot be reviewed under an existing COA service section. This option allows organizations to prioritize services and maximize their time and resources while working towards achieving COA accreditation/reaccreditation in order to have the greatest impact on the people they serve.

Organizations will be able to opt-in or opt-out of the GSS supplement for each applicable program as of June 11, 2018. For organizations currently in-process that have been assigned GSS, please contact your Accreditation Coordinator to discuss the update and how it may apply to your current accreditation cycle.

For more information on the GSS supplement, please refer to the GSS Fact Sheet – Private, Public, Canadian
